Terms of Service
Last updated: March 28, 2026
By creating a BiteSignal account, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. What BiteSignal Is
BiteSignal is a personal wellness tool that helps you track food and symptoms to identify potential patterns. It uses AI to break foods into chemical compounds and statistical analysis to find correlations between what you eat and how you feel.
BiteSignal is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. The patterns and correlations it identifies are statistical observations from your self-reported data, not clinical diagnoses. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making dietary changes based on this information.
2. Not Medical Advice
- BiteSignal does not diagnose food sensitivities, allergies, intolerances, or any medical condition.
- Results are statistical correlations, not proof of causation. A correlation between a compound and a symptom means the pattern exists in your data — it does not mean the compound causes the symptom.
- Clinical PDF reports are designed to help you have more productive conversations with your doctor. They are not medical documents and should not be treated as such.
- The quality of results depends entirely on the completeness and accuracy of your logging.
3. Not an Allergy Management Tool
Do not use BiteSignal to manage food allergies. Food allergies can cause severe, life-threatening reactions (anaphylaxis). If you have known food allergies, follow your allergist's guidance. BiteSignal's AI-generated compound breakdowns may contain inaccuracies and must never be relied upon for allergy safety.
4. AI Limitations
BiteSignal uses AI (Google Gemini) to decompose foods into chemical compounds. You should know:
- Compound levels (high, moderate, low, trace) are approximations, not precise measurements.
- AI decomposition may occasionally be inaccurate, especially for unusual or regional foods.
- The statistical engine is deterministic and transparent, but it cannot account for all variables that affect how you feel (stress, sleep, medication, hormones, etc.).
5. Your Responsibilities
- You are at least 16 years old.
- You provide reasonably accurate information when logging food and symptoms.
- You consult a healthcare provider before making significant dietary changes.
- You keep your account credentials secure.
- You do not use BiteSignal for any purpose it was not designed for.
6. Your Data
Your data belongs to you. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we collect, use, and protect it. Key points:
- You can request a copy of your data or account deletion by emailing fede@getbitesignal.com
- We never sell your data
7. Limitation of Liability
BiteSignal is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any health outcomes resulting from dietary decisions made based on BiteSignal's output.
- We are not liable for inaccuracies in AI-generated food decomposition.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

8. Account Termination
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings in the app. You can also request deletion by emailing fede@getbitesignal.com. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
